British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB)

The Liquor Distribution Branch is one of two branches of government responsible for the beverage alcohol industry in British Columbia. The BCLDB contributes nearly $1 billion annually to the Province of BC, helping to provide financial support for vital public services such as health care and education.

We worked with the team at the BCLDB to design and develop a pricing model for the province’s liquor stores and the LDB Product-Price application architecture based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). We are currently part of the team to maintain the province-wide system.

The core challenge was developing a robust, reliable, stable and large-scale pricing model and Product-Price application architecture that would allow the BCLDB to sell liquor in stores across the province.

The final solution was the development of a robust pricing model and LDB Product-Price application architecture.
